Mattie's story...
am a beautiful 3 year old female dry mouth mastif. I may be big but I am lovable, playful and have a ton of love to give. I might not be able to sit on your lap but that doesn't stop me from showing you love and giving you kisses. My owner has decided that I need a family to love me that is just my own that I don't have to share. I get along with dogs of all sizes. I love to be hugged and babyed. I just eat up the attention you give me. Please give me a home and love me.

My adoption fee is $495.00

Mattie has been examined by our vet, had a 5/1 annual shot, a rabies shot and tag (if over 6 months old) dewormed, heart worm tested (if over 6 months of age) and passed. Spayed or Neutered before adoption (Puppies are adopted with a spay or neuter refundable additional deposit until you send us proof of spay or neuter then we will return your deposit). Our rescues are on flea/tick and heartworm monthly preventatives. We also do a dental if our vet deems it necessary which is included in our adoption fee. Our adoption fee covers all vetting expenses and a small donation to cover the dogs food and care.

We send your new dog home with a copy of all vet paperwork, adoption papers, a small bag of the dog food they have been on and information on taking care of the dog. Also a health folder for your vet and notes from our foster mom on their schedule, habits and socialization skills.

We do adopt our rescue dogs to an adjourning states and some others within driving distance of the foster family. We DO NOT SHIP OUR DOGS the adoptive parents must meet the dog at the foster mother’s home. This will give the adoptive family a chance to meet the dog before they adopt it. Our dogs are fostered in NE Ohio and surrounding areas.

If you are interest in adoption or just additional information please email us at ronsrescued@aol.com. We can send you an adoption application at the time of inquiry. We will answer any questions you may have about out adoption process.

If you are interest in helping us save more dogs you can make a donation by visiting our home page and clicking on the PAYPAL link. You can also SPONSOR A DOG with a $25.00 donation which will help our volunteer foster family pay for his food, medicine, treats and toys while we try to find him a home .

About Our Rescue Group...
Ron's Rescued Rascals Inc started out reforming the Trumbull Co Dog Pound, one of the worst in Ohio. Finally after 3 years the local volunteers started to help. So we are a spin off, we offer a PRE POUND PROGRAM to the Trumbull and other county residents by offering to get their pets fully vetted and put up for adoption rather than take them to the Trumbull Dog Pound. We are an ethical pet rescue group with a small number of volunteer. If you would like to help save dogs, donations are always welcome, as we never cover all the vetting prices for each dog and our volunteers are always having to come up with more to help save the dogs. So a donation would be appreciated. email us for our paypal account. Thank you for considering to adopt a rescue pet. They do need your help financially and in a forever home These dogs are homeless until adopted.

Come Meet Our Pets...
We are a small group of volunteers holding dogs in our homes or kennels until we find an adopter. We go to PETS SUPPLIES PLUS store in Niles and Boardman; but we rotate weekends and days, so please email us if you would like to see any of our available pets. We need more help, if you can volunteer for anything, just driving the dog to the vets for an exam, at home from your pc helping with inquireis, please contact us. When you volunteer with us all items you will need are donated and we supply you and pay all the cost involved.

DONATIONS, if you have any gently used dog items, or unopened flea/tick & heartworm preventions, please help us by donating them to save the strays and dogs in danger of going to the county dog pound. ronsrescued@aol.com

Our Adoption Process...
We require all rescues or private adopters to submit an application for approval. We do not adopt out dogs un-neutered or un-spayed. Our dogs are up to date on all shots, examined, de-wormed, heartworm tested and loving cared for until their adoption or going to a rescue group. Our adoption fees run between $150 and $350 to cover the cost to do all this and care for them until adopted. We also can help with some transportation to get the dog safely to you if you do not live in the area.

We do not adopt our animals to families with toddlers. Toddlers are too young to truly understand the consequences of falling on a dog, pulling an ear or tail, taking a bone or toy from a dog's mouth, etc. Even if the dog is raised in your own home from a puppy, you can never predict how the dog is going to react to these situations until they happen. Many times it is the fault of the child and not the fault of the dog, but the dog is the one who ends up in the pound when it growls or snaps at a child in self defense.
We are not a shelter or a kennel. We are a small group of people who dedicate our hard-earned money and spare time to saving dogs from euthanasia. Our dogs are all housed in our homes where they are evaluated to determine the type of homes they need. All of our dogs can tested for temperament, compatibility with other animals, and compatibility with children. Adoptions are NOT based on first-come-first-served. We try to place our dogs in the homes that best suit their needs. Since most of us work, we can best answer your questions via email, and usually respond in less than 24 hours.

Email ronsrescued@aol.com for an adoption application.
