Happy, outgoing Lab mix. Great with kids! Fun, sweet dog!
Hi! Meet Midnight! Midnight is approximately a year-and-a-half in age. He is a gorgeous black Labrador mix. Midnight is a very good-looking dog in person. He gets all the compliments whenever I take him out!
We rescued Midnight from being euthanized at the 'high kill' South L.A. Animal Shelter, and we are now looking for his 'forever home'.
Midnight is very friendly and outgoing. He's very, very sweet. He loves kids, too! He is a big, tall boy (but I'm a relatively small female, and can handle him just fine), and he will do best with an active family....someone who wants to take him for frequent walks / jogs, and someone who will spend time playing fetch with him in the yard (which he loves to do).
Midnight is great on the leash, and is nice and calm in the car, too. He is also housebroken, and is not destructive. Midnight LOVES his human family (including the kids), and is very sweet and very loyal. However, Midnight likes to chase cats, so if you have a cat, then Midnight would not be the right dog for you. Also, Midnight is usually friendly with dogs, but occasionally he can be too dominant with dogs - especially over toys and food (but he's not that way with people, though). Therefore we feel it is best for Midnight to go into a home where he is the only dog.
Midnight is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. There is an adoption fee of $125. Included in this adoption fee, we are offering one free training session for you and Midnight, with a trainer who has worked with Midnight and knows him well. If you are interested in Midnight, please send us an e-mail, at HeroesK9Rescue@aol.com , and we will send you a short adoption application. Thank you for considering a rescued shelter dog!

Rescue Group Info...
Hi! I'm Lacey Conner, the "villain" from Vh1's "Rock of Love" and "Charm School". However, I am no villain to the animals! I started my organization (previously called "New Dawn Pet Rescue") a year-and-a-half ago. I am currently working on obtaining my 501c3 status. I rescue dogs (and, occassionally, cats) that are at the local city and county shelter and who are dangerously close to being euthanized at the shelter. Once I remove these animals from the shelter, they come home with me, which is where I foster them. If they are sick or injured (which is often the case), I get them the medical attention they need to heal. (Several dogs that I've pulled from the shelter even needed surgery.) Once the dog is feeling good, I adopt him/her into a loving "forever" home. Then I go back to the animal shelter and start the process all over again. Since I foster in my own home, I can only foster 4 or 5 animals at any given time. But to date, I've rescued and successfully rehomed over 50 animals, most of which otherwise would have been euthanized at the animal shelter.
Contact HeroesK9Rescue@aol.com if you want to meet one of our animals.
If someone is interested in adopting one of our rescued dogs, first we will send the person a brief adoption application via e-mail. Once we receive the completed adoption application back from that person, and if it looks like a good match, then we would bring the dog to that person's house. That way, we can simultaneously do a home check, and have the person and the dog meet each other. If all goes well, then the adoption is complete upon the person signing a contract with us. The contract states that we have the right to check on the well-being of the dog for the rest of that dog's life, and it also states that the person may never give away or sell the dog (if they no longer wish to own the dog, they MUST give the dog back to us.) Our adoption fees range from $150 to $300. (The majority of these fees help pay for vet bills for all the rescued dogs...we specialize in rescuing sick and injured animals from the pound.)
