Gidget's story...
See Gidget on WAGS Wednesday on KOFY TV Channel 20. Gidget is about 2 yrs old and weighs 7 lbs. She has beautiful hazel eyes and is mainly white with brown markings. She is active & loves to play with toys & other small dogs. She even plays fetch! Gidget loves people & is an affectionate, cuddly lap dog. She lives with small dogs & a dog savvy cat in her foster home. It is reccomended that because of her small size, Gidget should go to a mature home w/children over 12 yrs old.

Gidget is highly food motivated and learns quickly. Ideal home is with another small, playful dog, esp a Chi or a playful adopter with small dog experience. She will need to be managed around runners, bicyclists and skateboarders because she has a tendency to chase them! We are working on desensitization. She can use a doggie door. Gidget is highly trainable, love treats and already knows several basic commands.

Please see our other available dogs at A Leg Up Rescue. A Leg Up Rescue must charge an adoption fee which is $200.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete our online adoption application, or please email aLegUp@me.com. You can also help by ordering a limited edition Levi Gunn t-shirt

Come Meet Our Pets...
A Leg Up Rescue's dogs are kept in loving foster homes in and around the San Francisco Bay Area where they can relax and let their true personalities shine. They also begin to exhibit exceptional house manners as our foster homes are dedicated and experienced.

We will make arrangements for approved potential adopters to meet a dog, or you may visit us at one of our Meet & Greet events detailed on our web site.

Our Adoption Process...
We request potential adopters to complete an adoption application and agree to a home visit. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and receive a comprehensive medical examination prior to being adopted. We make every effort to match the right dog with the right family.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
San Francisco, Marin and Sonoma Counties, Mid-Peninsula, down to San Jose, and limited East Bay areas.
