Darla's story...
Darla is a beautiful and incredibly sweet girl. She weighs a healthy 26 lbs. and is about the biggest Rat Terrier you'll ever see (of course she's got a bit of Border Collie in her)! Darla isn't too sure how she got here and where she'll be going, but truly has a positive and upbeat attitude! You can tell just by looking at the pictures of her. So come on out and say hi to Darla! She'll be more than happy to see you and maybe your next best friend!

This is a very small facility with limited space. Homeless animals come in each day, and there are many animals awaiting their turn to be placed up for adoption. If you adopt one or more of these pets quickly, it makes room for others to come up for adoption.

Offering a foster home to an animal is also a way you can help save him/her. If you can foster an animal for an area rescue group, please email us at laccvols@gmail.com. We ask that you be within a short drive of Lafayette, Baton Rouge, or NOLA to foster for a local group.

Adoption Fees-- Dogs: Males $58 Females $68 Cats: Males $53 Females $58. The shelter can accept CASH only. Fees are as listed (unless otherwise specified) and include vouchers for Spay/Neuter and a Rabies Vaccination. All pets leaving the shelter are micro-chipped.

Act quickly to adopt Darla. Pets at this shelter may be held for only a short time.

Our Adoption Process...
Many wonderful animals come in each day, in need of new homes. When you adopt one of these pets you are literally saving his or her life, and you also allow another to have a chance at adoption.

If you would like to volunteer at the shelter, or help in other ways (not at the shelter), email laccvols@gmail.com. We'd love to have you join the team! (must be at least 18 years old.)

If you can foster an animal, please email us at laccvols@gmail.com. We would prefer that you be within a short drive of Lafayette, Baton Rouge, or NOLA and that you be able to foster him or her for at least 60 days.

Adoption Fees-- All adopted pets are micro chipped, and come with a voucher to be used toward the cost of your new friend’s spay/neuter and rabies vaccination! Dogs: Males $58 Females $68 Cats: Males $53 Females $58 The shelter can accept CASH only, please.
