Turbo spent the first 6 years of his life as the companion to a member of our armed forces. After his second tour in Afghanistan, and with a third impending, his family would no longer care for his companion in his absence. Our soldier had to make the tough call and decided to give his longtime friend to what he thought was a good home. During Turbo’s time with his military friend he graduated from Petsmart Puppy Training. He knows basic commands, such as sit, leave it, down & paw. When you tell him to come, he usually lays down. He is extremely well house trained, I believe he would make himself sick before he would relieve himself in the house. He will sit at the back door and whine every little bit when he needs to go out.
Turbos second home was not as kind as thought by his loving owner. His new person didn't like that Turbo wanted to sit with him and would actually kick him in the face when he would begin to jump. The new person also tried to dump Turbo at an intersection while the traffic light was red. The wife of that person made him go back to get the dog. Life was pretty miserable for Turbo for those two weeks or so. He was living with 3 other dogs and over 10 cats. He became infested with fleas. A good samaritan called me when she became aware of the situation by way of a friend. Contact was made and the short term guardian of Turbo was willing to give him to me and drop him off at a Petsmart groomer for me to pick him up.
My first thoughts were "My what a handsome little guy". He is a beautiful little black and tan guy with a docked tail and natural ears. Okay, little is relative, he’s a stocky MinPin at 15’ and weighing in at 17 pounds. He is now eating a regular adult food diet, in reasonable portions. I think he will slim down a bit in no time. Turbo is up to date on his rabies, is neutered, micro chipped, groomed and flea free. He is great with kids, cats and other animals. What a man!!

About Our
Rescue Group...
AWe are a small rescue specializing in saving small dogs under 25 pounds. We pull from area pounds/shelters when the dog is in grave danger of being put to sleep. We also rescue dogs from puppymills and take in owner releases when someone finds themselves in a bind and can no longer take care of their dog or someone notices a dog being abused by a family and wishes to save the dog. We specialize in rehabilitating the fear biters and growlers and teaching them to trust and love humans. We RARELY take in puppies. Usually the only time we have puppies available is when a pregnant female comes into our rescue and is too far along for spay surgery. Our rescue is run totally by volunteers who love dogs and wish to help them. Most of our dogs have an adoption fee for them simply to help us pay our vet bills. We also accept donations in the form of cash, dog food and treats, toys, collars, leashes, carriers, crates, blankets, etc. We know we cannot save all the dogs of the world but we do make a world of difference to the dogs we do save. You can all our successfull adoption stories, pictures, read about our events, etc. at our website: www.minimuttsrescue.org.
Because we are a group of volunteers spread out across Ohio and neighboring states, it's best to look over our list of dogs and email us about the one or more you're interested in. We can then set up a time for you to meet your dog at the foster home.
Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption fees vary according to how much money we spend on vet bills, medication, pull fees, etc. We require everyone fill out our online adoption application prior to meeting/adopting a dog from us. We must approve you prior to adoption and we conduct home visits to make sure the dog feels safe and secure in his/her new home and everyone in the family likes/loves the dog and wishes to finalize the adoption. We have the right to deny any application for any reason and have, at times, not adopted the dog at the last minute even after pre-approving an application because the dog reacted negatively on the home visit. We promise all our dogs happy, loving, forever homes and their instincts we trust.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
We serve all over the northeastern states. We're based in Madison, OH, which is an hour east of Cleveland, an hour north of Akron/Canton, and an hour west of Erie, PA. We do require our adopting families to come to our location to meet/adopt the dog if the drive is less than half a day. We're willing to meet along the way if the adopting family lives a day's drive away from us but we require the adopting family to drive at least halfway. We also welcome our Canadian neighbors to adopt from us and have several mini mutts living in the great north.
