Baby is just that....a great big baby. He is a very large kitty(may have some Maine Coon in him). He has one of the sweetest personalities that I have ever met. He was surrendered when his owner died & no one in the family wanted him. Baby is special needs because of his age(10 - 12 years) & the bones in 2 of his legs are mis-shapened. He has been x-rayed to determine the cause of his small limp. It appears that it was a birth defect rather than injury. That being said, he gets around well, but cannot jump on the kitchen counters(a plus in most people's mind). He does not seem to be in pain. He is very healthy according to his blood work. His teeth were just cleaned & he still has all of them. Except for his slight limp, he looks great! He also had his fur shaved because he was badly matted. When his hair is long, he looks like he is a dark chocolate color, but while shaved he has spots of red & white.

Our Adoption Process...
We have an adoption form to fill out that explains certain criteria needed to adopt one of our pets and we check with your Vet. re: how you cared for your previous pets. We also ask for a personal reference if the committee feels it necessary. Our fees vary and are based on the Vet. services they have receive. Thanks to our wonderful volunteers, discounted prices on food courtesy Scienc Diet, and reasonable prices from our Vets., we can afford to adopt our pets with services not usually found in rescued cats. Our cats and kittens are tested for feline leukemia and AIDS before entering the adoption center. Our felines are vaccinated for feline leukemia, which is not done by other rescue groups, to my knowledge.
