I am from Maricopa County Animal Care and Control where my owner left for nipping his girlfriend's daughter... she jumped on me while I was sleeping! Not only was I completely un-accustomed to children running around my Daddy's bachelor pad, but she knocked the wind outta me and scared me! I was really sorry... I never meant to hurt her... I would never hurt anyone on purpose! Spend three minutes with me and you will see that! But it was too late... I was out and the new girlfriend was in.
Joey has been a dream to foster! She gets along with everyone and has an excepionally happy disposition! Her mission in life is to find the sunniest and softest place in the entire house to doze away the afternoons! BUT, don't let her lazy moments fool you! She has a whole different side to show when the mood hits her! She runs around the back yard like a Tazmanian Devil! She can jump a three foot baby gate with the grace and ease of a deer! Who woulda thunk it? We certainly didn't!
Joey is potty trained, leash trained, and crate trained.

Do you adopt out of the state of AZ? ABSOLUTELY! BUT ONE OF OUR REQUIREMENTS IS A HOME VISIT AND WE MAY NOT HAVE A VOLUNTEER IN YOUR STATE. ONCE APPROVED, IF THEY DON'T HAVE A MATCH FOR YOU, ASK THEM TO CONTACT US AND WE CAN SEE IF THERE MIGHT BE A MATCH TO ONE OF OUR RESCUES! When/where can we meet your rescues? Any other way we can meet one of your rescues? IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND AN EVENT, YOU WILL NEED TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION (FIRST STEP) AND RECEIVE A HOME VISIT (LAST STEP) - THERE ARE STEPS IN BETWEEN! ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS WILL BE ABLE TO MEET OUR RESCUES OUTSIDE OF ADOPTION EVENTS...WE CHOOSE NOT TO DISRUPT OUR FOSTER HOMES WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE 'JUST LOOKING'.
Why does it seem that most of your dogs are 'pending' or 'adopted'? By the time I see a rescue I'm interested in and start to fill out the application, they are no longer available! IF YOU HAVE YOUR HEART SET ON A SPECIFIC RESCUE, YOU MAY HAVE YOUR HEART BROKEN. OUR PROCESS IS QUICK, AND WE HAVE A GROWING WAITING LIST OF APPROVED APPLICANTS. THOSE ON THE WAITING LIST GET TO SEE OUR NEW RESCUES BEFORE WE POST THEM FOR ADOPTION AND START TO TAKE NEW APPLICATIONS.
Can I apply for a specific rescue? ABSOLUTELY! IT'S HARD NOT TO FALL IN LOVE WITH THE PICTURES OF OUR RESCUES, BUT IT'S IMPORTANT TO KEEP IN MIND THAT NOT ALL DOGS WILL MATCH ALL HOMES - JUST LIKE ALL HOMES WON'T MATCH ALL DOGS. THE FOSTER HOME KNOWS THEIR RESCUE BEST AND WHAT TYPE OF HOME WILL BEST SUIT THEIR FOSTER. IF YOU HAVE SPECIFICS ABOUT COLOR, AGE, ETC. WE SUGGEST THAT YOU START THE APPROVAL PROCESS SO WE CAN FIND YOUR PERFECT MATCH!
