Ducky's story...
You are invited to meet Ducky and other little dogs looking for homes at the SF Chihuahua Meetup being held on December 6th at the Monaco Hotel from noon to 5:00. For more information and to buy tickets go to EvenBrite

Ducky is about 4 yrs old and weighs around10.8 lbs, and is perhaps a schoodle, or poodle-terrier. He has soft, slightly curly, medium length hair, and doesn't appear to shed. Ducky is a bit of a celebrity around Westborough and Hwy 280 in San Bruno, as he was on the lam for about 18 months. He was briefly adopted a year and a half ago, but his new owner allowed him to escape only minutes after being adopted. Ducky lived in a parking lot and neighborhood surviving on scraps from the nearby restaurant and friendly neighbors feeding him. Though timid of people, he is calm and polite to strangers. He is also quite sweet and affectionate to his foster parents, and always gentle. Ducky is quiet, and non-demanding of attention, but likes to curl up next to you on the couch. He loves other dogs, enjoys playing the backyard with them, and would do best in a mature home with a similar sized playmate. He knows how to use a doggie door, and is also crate trained. He rarely barks, and is very good on leash. Ducky is neutered, current on all his shots and is microchipped.

Please see our other available dogs at A Leg Up Rescue. A Leg Up Rescue must charge an adoption fee which is $200.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete our online adoption application, or please email aLegUp@me.com. You can also help by ordering a limited edition Levi Gunn t-shirt

Come Meet Our Pets...
A Leg Up Rescue's dogs are kept in loving foster homes in and around the San Francisco Bay Area where they can relax and let their true personalities shine. They also begin to exhibit exceptional house manners as our foster homes are dedicated and experienced.

We will make arrangements for approved potential adopters to meet a dog, or you may visit us at one of our Meet & Greet events detailed on our web site.

Our Adoption Process...
We request potential adopters to complete an adoption application and agree to a home visit. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and receive a comprehensive medical examination prior to being adopted. We make every effort to match the right dog with the right family.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
San Francisco, Marin and Sonoma Counties, Mid-Peninsula, down to San Jose, and limited East Bay areas.
