Good day, my name is Koji. I am purebred big Akita male. I am loyal, handsome, have a great sense of humor, and will protect you! What more could you want in a guy? The only things I lack are a soft bed, some good food and your companionship.
I am a BIG older boy with plenty of good years left. I have a soft white coat with brown patches. I am very calm and don't like a lot of drama, but I do want to be close to my family and don't like being left alone at night. I like kids and other medium to large dogs. It may not be a good idea for me to have small dog playmates since I don't understand my own size.

Public shelters are overcrowded and have fallen victim to the economic crisis just like everyone else. Shelter dogs may not have long, so if you see a dog listed in a public shelter, please don't delay and contact the shelter ASAP. To avoid possible disappointment, we also strongly recommend that you make advance arrangements to meet a dog versus "just stopping by".

Rescue Group...

| We specialize in rescuing Akitas , both purebred and mixes and from time to time other large breed dogs from high kill shelters, provide medical assistance if needed, assess them and find homes. We are truly the last resort for many dog that would otherwise be put to sleep. This is a act of kindness for those in most need & out of love for the dogs. We are an all volunteer organization that survives on donations. |

| We have an adoption agreement and ask that you keep us informed of the dog's whereabouts if you move or relocate and also that you maintain updated contact information with our organization. We ask for a tax deductible donation of between $250 - $500 to help us pay vet bills, rescue fees, boarding & transporting expenses. |
