Chance's story...
REDUCED DONATION FOR THIS PET!

Chance is even cuter in person than he is in his photos but don’t let that baby face fool you. This little guy is approximately 3 years old, is very intelligent and needs an experienced owner that can be his alpha leader. Chance has been sponsored by Jessica Brock.

Weighing less than 20 lbs, Chance is actually a very strong and hardy little dog. He bonds very strongly with his people and is extremely affectionate. Although he is friendly with people of all ages and loves to play with other dogs when off leash, he is very protective when on leash and will guard his people from strange dogs that approach too closely. He thinks he is a big dog and will not back down from a fight regardless of another dog’s size. For this reason Chance was given up for dead in a kill shelter however with the right owner, a backyard to play in and opportunities to socialize off leash with other dogs, Chance could be the perfect little companion.

Chance does want to be with his people whenever possible and would need to be considered as part of the family. He is crate trained and can stay on his own without issue for a normal working day but would need a brisk daily walk. He is very clean and well behaved in the home, loves to play with toys and can amuse himself very well. Although he loves to cuddle he does not need to be in your lap but rather is content to lie at your feet.

Chance is a very healthy dog and once he bonds he is very responsive, and loyal to his person and can even be trusted off leash. In the right situation Chance would be a wonderful and fun pet and we are hoping that he finds someone that is willing to give him that opportunity. He would be an excellent companion for someone that lives alone and who would appreciate an intelligent, obedient, loyal, and loving little dog.

About Our Rescue Group...
Ugly Mutts Dog Rescue is a committed and caring group of volunteers that combine their talents and experience to help aid dogs in danger of being euthanized.

We supply quality foster care, train and rehabilitate dogs to become loving capable companions and then place them with approved adopters into suitable, permanent, loving new homes.

We ensure that each potential adopter is educated on matters of breed specifics, health and general behaviour traits related to the pet of their choice and make them aware that responsible dog ownership demands a lifetime commitment to the pet.

Come Meet Our Pets...
We always have a variety of lovingly maintained pets for adoption and they can change on a daily basis so, if you do not see someone looking for a home today that interests you, please come back and visit us again.

If you do see a pet that you are interested in, please go to our web site at www.uglymutts.com and submit an application from the Dogs for Adoption page. Once you have done that one of our volunteers will be more than willing to answer any questions you might have and advise you whether we feel the pet would be a good match for your home.

Please note that we are often speaking with several potential adopters about a particular dog and showing interest does not guarantee that you will be selected for adoption of that pet.

Our Adoption Process...
All of our pets are assessed prior to adoption and adopters are given full disclosure to any behaviour, health or other issues that may be affecting the pet. We pride ourselves on being honest and upfront and our screening process helps ensure that not only can the adopter fulfill the needs of the pet, but also that every adopters desires for a pet are fulfilled by the pet.

You must submit an application to be considered as a potential adopter. The application can be found on our website at http://www.uglymutts.com on the Dogs for Adoption page.

We do not adopt on a first come, first served basis and we do not hold dogs without a signed commitment from the adopter. We do reserve the right to refuse any adopter for whatever reason. Visiting a specific dog is done by appointment only and donations requested for each pet may vary.
