| Meet Barney. Barney came to us as an abandoned stray. Someone had put this precious puppy out on the Frontage road alongside the interstate! The poor baby was chasing cars back and forth trying to find the sorry owner who put him out. On his way to work, my husband saw Barney chasing after cars then standing forlornly in the middle of the road when he couldn’t catch up. My husband couldn’t leave him there to be run over or die from exposure, he brought him home to me. We named the baby Barney since he was thin as a rail, super skinny from neglect. I immediately popped him with his first DHPP vaccination and wormed him the same day. Then the process began of gradually adding weight to this growing boy’s body. Since that first day, Barney has been thriving. He has filled out and grown so much that in just a week I had to let out his new collar! Barney is being mentored by the greatest dogs in the world, my personal pack Isaac, Noah, Vinny, and Brady, all rescues themselves. Barney is due to be neutered, de-wormed (again), vaccinated (second set in his series), and micro-chipped in about a week. After this, he will be ready to go to his furever family. Because Barney has lots of puppy energy, we are requiring a home with a fenced yard, at least one other canine companion, (preferably one larger than he is), and pit savvy parents. A vet reference, home visit, and adoption contract are required. If you think Barney is the chocolate covered Pitty you’ve been waiting for, please email me at heart4rescue@wmconnect.com. This dog is located in Spartanburg, SC. |
