Maddy's Info...

Breed: German Wirehaired Pointer/Redbone Coonhound Mix Color: Black Age: Adult
Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg) Sex: Female

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Maddy's Story...

Arrival story: Maddy's family has a 1-1/2 year old child, and because Maddy is very playful and active, they feel she would do better in a home with older children, so they asked Waggin' Tails to help.

Approximate age / weight: 3 years old and 50 lbs.

Personality: Maddy is a fun-loving girl just full of personality! She's great with other dogs and loves everyone she meets. She's housetrained, crate trained, and knows many commands.

Forever home: Maddy would love nothing more than to be a member of an active family where she'll get plenty of exercise and love. In return, she'll be your loyal and faithful companion. She'd be thrilled to join you on your jogs or long walks. Maddy is a smarty pants and gets bored easily, so exercise and mental stimulation are a must for this beautiful girl. Activities/toys like Kongs and Buster Cubes are great for dogs like Maddy. SheÂ’d love to learn tricks and maybe even some backyard agility. So if you're looking for an affectionate exercise buddy, Maddy is the one for you!

Pre-Adoption Application: To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - Adoption Process Just complete the application and email it back to wtdr2008@yahoo.com

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $200 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies -
$125 senior dogs (9 years +)
$275 for small breed dogs
$250 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age.
Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.

We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).

Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.

Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit rescue group. Our experienced and dedicated volunteers donate their spare time to rescue, rehabilitate, foster, and re-home all breeds of homeless dogs at risk of being euthanized or sold to research from area and rural kill shelters. We are supported solely through donations and fund-raising efforts. Our volunteers receive no monetary payment for their activities. Instead, their reward is the knowledge that a dog's life has been saved that otherwise would have been lost.
Come Meet Our Pets...
We typically show every Saturday from 12-3 p.m. (please see our website for exact location details). We often have other special events that are listed on our website, as well. Potential adopters can also schedule meetings with the individual dog's foster parent since all of our dogs are in fosters homes and we do not own a shelter.
Our Adoption Process...
We utilize an application process because we have worked hard at nurturing and working with the animals in our care. In order to ensure that these formerly abandoned, neglected and abused animals never find themselves in the shelter/rescue system again, we screen applicants so that the applicant is matched to an animal that is suited to the applicant's lifestyle.

It is our job at Waggin’ Tails not only to find new homes for our animals but to ensure these animals never have an opportunity to breed again. All of Waggin’ Tails dogs will be spayed/neutered at the time of adoption unless the dog is not of age and/or the dog has a medical condition that would prohibit sterilization at the time of adoption. Dogs under 6 months of age and dogs that cannot be sterlilized due to a medical condition will be adopted out on a spay/neuter contract which means the adopter must agree to have the dog sterilized by a specified date.

Adoption Fees
Adult Dogs: $225
Small Breed Dogs: $275
Senior Dogs: $125
Puppies (under 6 months): $250 + $50 refundable Spay/Neuter Deposit

What does the adoption fee Include?
The adoption fees above cover all age-appropriate vaccines; heartworm/fecal test; spay/neuter (unless otherwise stated); and microchipping. When necessary, the dogs have blood panels, dentals, and professional grooming as well. In other words, we do everything necessary for the dog when they come into our care.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
We serve mostly Southeast Michigan and try to extend ourselves further when necessary.
