Name/Nicknames: Handsome Jackson, Captain Jack, Garage Cat, Studly

How did I get to ARLP: I was cruising the streets thinking it'd be nice to have a full belly and a warm place to sleep when I saw this lady with a bunch of dogs and cats. I thought, hey, here's a lady who'll make room for me so I wandered over and insisted she take me in. After a lot of grumbling about freeloaders and the ethics of running a halfway house for cracked out, homeless animals, she found me a spot in her garage. Then she called the lovely ladies at ARLP and made them foot the bill for my vet visit so she could move me into the spare bedroom before it got really cold out. Do I know how to pick 'em or what?

Hobbies: I like to sleep a lot, but then, what self-respecting cat doesn't? I also think the dogs here are pretty dang awesome, once I straightened out their bully attitudes. We get along really well. You should probably know that I have to chase strings and other small moving objects. It's a compulsion; I have no power over it. I like hanging out with people, but on my terms. It's no good to be too needy.

Tricks/Commands: I'm a cat. I don't need to know any tricks and have fun giving me any commands. I suppose I could come when you call, but only if there's food involved. Although, hey, I managed to score a spot in a pit bull and Rottweiler rescue. That's a pretty great trick.

Potty Trained: Absolutely. I know where the poop goes.

Size in pounds: 6 lbs or so pounds of muscle. I could probably stand to gain a bit more, though. I'm still recovering from my time adventuring.

Activity Level: Moderate – I'm not Garfield, but I'm no eight week old kitten, either. Mostly I'm happy to laze around whatever room you're in, but I like to keep my hunting skills sharp and stalk the bull dogs. They know I could take 'em, too.

Fun things I do: I'm awesome. Everything I do is fun.

Socialization/who I currently live with: Currently, I have a room all to myself. The human 'grown-ups' come hang out with me, and they bring the dogs for me to play with. There are a few cats who live here, too, but they're a bunch of stuck-up snobs, so I don't hang out with them.

About Our Rescue Group...
A Rotta Love Plus is dedicated to the Rottweiler, APBT, AmStaff, and other non-traditional breeds. We are the oldest Rottweiler rescue in the state of Minnesota and the first non-profit Rottweiler Rescue in the state. (A Rotta Love and PitsPlus have merged as one!)

Rescue - We are here to rescue the unwanted and neglected Rottweilers and other non-traditional breeds that are surrendered to local animal shelters.
Re-Home - With the help of foster homes we evaluate and prepare the dogs to be re-homed with a loving family.
Educate - For those willing, we are here to educate on responsible ownership of these great breeds and what owning a dog (or dogs) is all about.

The Rottweiler, APBT, and many others have fallen victim to bad press and prejudice. A Rotta Love is THEIR VOICE. We are here to defend and protect these wonderful breeds.

Our Adoption Process...
Every dog adopted from A Rotta Love Plus goes to its new home spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and microchipped. We also provide a collar, leash and their favorite toy. We request a $300 donation for each dog to help us cover these costs and to assist us in rehoming other dogs.

If you are interested in one of the dogs you see here the first step is to fill out our online application which is available on our website or to give us a call.

If you don't see a dog here that fits your particular needs please give us a call anyway. We frequently have dogs on a waiting list or in other shelters. Let's us know what you are looking for and we can usually help you find the perfect dog for your situation. If you are looking to work with people that KNOW these breeds you've come to the right place. We've trained and competed with the Rottweiler for many years and placed over 300 dogs since 1997.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
We are based out of the Twin Cities but adopt to the entire state of MN.

No out of state adoptions.
