| 09-17-09 Tami (Tamara) is a 5 lb long haired red & fluffy fur-girl. Her DOB is 06-14-07. She is very social, quite beautiful, was raised with older children that were taught kindness to pets. You may copy/paste the following into your browser to learn more about this breed: http://www.petfinder.com/dog-breeds/Chihuahua http://dogbreedinfo.com/chihuahua.htm We have placed this fur-kid in foster care with Gerry. The foster updates on his/her likes & dislikes will help you know if this fur-kid is suitable for your home. The foster has a very important job, evaluating, loving, letting go to make room for another fur-kid at risk. 09-17 Tami has excellent vehicle manners. She rode like a little lady on the passenger seat to visit Doc, get her Rabies done, get her spay appointment made. Tami cannot be free fed as she gains too much weight. She will need a bit of diet & exercise, slim down before next summer's swimsuit time. Tami was released from a commercial breeding operation. She required a C-section to deliver puppies thus not quite suitable for a breeding program. However, since rescue means no more puppies & a spay will be done, she is PAWfect for us & for the fur-ever home fortunate enough to be chosen for her. 09-18 First update from foster mom Gerry: " the little darlins seemed to have a quiet nite. Tami still has not eaten, Goldie ate a little. They both peed outside last nite before bedtime and again this AM. No messes in their pens. Tami is very quiet and docile, while Goldie is a little whiner unless she is being held, rotten egg! But when I leave the room she will quiet down, so they will be okay .....Hope that they find homes quickly. They are sweet little dogs" Late PM update " the girls are doing okay. Goldie has a noisy tummy now, gave her a tiny bit of pepto tablet hoping it will resolve itself soon, she also was eating grass, all the upheaval in her life is getting to her, I guess. Tami , did eat some tonight, Only after I gave her soft food! I put the crunchies in the microwave for a bit but only for the spoiled kids! HA Will try that for Goldie too, she loves to be held! They did not care much for the leashes, but will work on that some more. They have been good to pee outside in the pen. So we will try another nite with them. ..... Hope they all find someone to love them unconditionally, they are precious." 09-22 Evening chat with foster mom Gerry. Both girls play hard, then nap, with Goldie putting her head on Tami's side. They have both gone outside to do their duty taken on a schedule, no accidents. They do enjoy being rocked yet could manage going to sleep on their own. Gerry believes the best home for these fur-kids would be an active empty nester, someone to make sure they got plenty of play time, walks, also would like to sit & hold them, get & give cuddle time. 09-27 Goldie is very active, runs hard, plays hard. Tami is more relaxed, quite mellow. Both girls will be spayed before the month ends. Goldie will come on site for recuperation. Tami will go back to the foster mom for recuperation. Because Goldie is so active we will be keeping a very close eye on her incision. 09-28 Tami has been spayed, basic vaccinations updated. A Do Not Spay tattoo is in her incision. 09-29 Tami will remain on site at the Sanctuary for a day, monitor the incision, then return to foster care with Gerry & Art. 09-30 Gerry advises us that both girls are doing fine, all systems working, eating, drinking, eliminating, eyes bright, alert, going outside on the grass each time she takes them out a schedule, no accidents in the house 10-10 Goldie & Tami are doing well in the foster home. They love playing tug of war, sleep quietly all night, dash to the kitchen when they hear a package opening, go outside to do their duty first thing every morning. They are simply precious & the foster mom feels whomever gets these fur-girls will be getting very happy, social pets. 10-24 A chat with the foster mom. Tami LOVES to eat, often cleaning up any kibbles the other fur-kids leave behind. Her incision has healed nicely, leaving her green tattoo visible. -------------------------------- The adoption fee ranges from $175 to $325. The fee is based upon veterinary care, age & size of dog.
