| JUST ARRIVED - 10/21/09 Arrival story: Kayden lived with a family for about a year and then they had a baby and kicked poor Kayden out of the house. He lived in the back yard for several years. A neighbor finally reported that he was being neglected and had no shelter. The Animal Control Officer convinced the owners to relinquish Kayden and then found out he was heartworm positive. Waggin Tails pulled Kayden from the shelter and is treating him for the heartworms. Kayden will be neutered after his treatment and then he will be ready for adoption.
Approximate age / weight: Kayden is 6 years old according to his former owners. He is 95 lbs but is underweight and could use another 10-15 lbs. He was neglected by his former owners. Personality: Kayden made quite an impression on one of the volunteers when she went to Gladwin to pull dogs. Kayden is bigger than life with a bubbly personality and paws the size of a lion’s! Kayden loves to be hugged and petted and has been friendly around other dogs. Unfortunately, Kayden has heartworms and has to undergo approximately 6 weeks of treatment beginning 10-26-09. Kayden will be neutered after this treatment is completed and then he will be ready for his forever home.
Forever home: We are learning about Kayden and will post more soon. Kayden is a very large, playful boy and should not be placed in a home with small children due to his size.
