About Our Rescue Group...
I became active in rescue work in Los Angeles. It became one of the missions of my life. Working on my own is VERY different from operating under the umbrella of an agency, and there is certainly a steep learning curve, but this is what I am meant to do. Some foundlings have been able to go home to their original owners within days, others are still with me a year later. That's part of the work. I believe dogs are Angels in fur coats, and they come to each of us for a reason. This is why I do not wish to charge an adoption fee. Rather, I would prefer to make the adoption process a bit tougher to discourage those dreaded "free to good home" people. I am still learning, from people and from the animals, and while my own resources are limited, I NEED to continue this work. About two years ago I helped a group called A Passion for Paws get set up with your system, and while I soon parted ways with them, I can tell by their numbers and know from the ease of your system, it must have been a tremendous help.

Come Meet Our Pets...
Interested parties can contact me directly to arrange a personal meeting with the animals. They will almost exclusively be living here at the "Stray Dog Ranch" (cats, if available, may also be located at Glos Paws).
Our Adoption Process...
Initial screening application, home visit and interview (with animal present), contract including temporary placement of animal for 2-4 weeks, second home visit and interview, final placement and release of veterinary records, including possible check-in on animal(s) for up to one year following placement. Donations made directly to our account at our veterinary provider are appreciated but not required; no one will be refused the love of a pet because of inability to "buy" it (we are not breeders!), however, demonstrable ability to provide proper care for the animal including quality food, annual vaccinations, and heartworm preventative will be considered as part of the adoption process. All animals (with contractual exceptions) must be spayed or neutered either prior to temporary placement or prior to final placement--in the case of low-income individuals, HP will allow a waiting period of up to six months so the family can take advantage of the bi-annual low-cost spay/neuter clinic but will not release the final contract until proof of spay/neuter is provided. Most animals will have been altered prior to their foster period. Goats kept as pets may be de-horned, but this is to be done in a humane manner. No goat or other "farm" animal placed through this agency may be sent to slaughter. Right and option of return exists in contract.
