My name is Bert and my brother, Ernie, eight of our brothers and sisters, and I were all dumped by our mean owners in a field. A nice man, who saw it happen, tried to catch us all, but could only get three of us and he found our sister a home. He took Ernie and me to a shelter and a rescue lady came to get us. We were covered in fleas and ticks and were sick with worms and our hair was falling out from all the scratching and poor diet. She made sure we got our shots and medicine to make us well, and we have all the good food we can eat now. We are neutered and are going to have our teeth cleaned before going to our forever home. You can see, in our pictures, how handsome we are now. And we are very, very sweet. I am the bigger, but quieter of the two and I really depend on Ernie for safety and companionship. Both of my ears are torn and I don't remember how that happened, but the doctor said he thought it might be from getting bitten by big flies. I am still a handsome boy, though. We have two beds to sleep on in our big crate, but we always sleep in the same bed right on top of each other. We really don't want to be alone. We already lost the rest of our family and it would be so nice if we could stay together. We love everyone we meet, even the little ones they call kids. We are working on our house training and we stay in our crate at night or when we are alone in the house. We love running in the yard and playing with each other and the rest of the dogs. And the best thing is getting belly rubs and being loved on by our foster mom and dad. We would like a family who will give us a lot of love and affection and give us the care we never had before. And, in turn, we will give you double the kisses. Won't you please give us a chance at a new life? |
