Charlotte's story...
Charlotte is a special needs kitty. When she went in to the vet a month ago, she was pregnant and she tested positive for feline leukemia. The vet wanted us to wait three months and have her re-tested, because she was afraid this was a false positive. So we are going to have her tested again. If she does remain a feline leukemia positive cat, she will be a special needs kitty who would have to be in a home with another feline leukemia positive cat or with a dog or by herself with no other cats. Charlotte is a blue point Ragdoll/Himalayan mix. She is beautiful and has a gorgeous personality. That is the reason we could not euthanize her after she tested positive. She is just too nice. In the meantime, she had her kittens the last week of October. There are six kittens that we will also have tested and vetted once they are old enough. None of the kittens look like Charlotte, however. They are all domestic looking cats--not purebred Ragdoll/Himi coloring--probably because the former owner was letting Charlotte outside and she met up with a neighborhood male cat. This is her second set of kittens in six months--the poor girl is about worn out. Charlotte is between 1-2 years old. She has been dewormed and treated for fleas, but we could not do anything else for her while she was pregnant. Charlotte will not be available until her kittens are weaned in December and she is spayed, vaccinated, and re-tested. If you are interested in Charlotte, even if she does test positive and you are willing to wait until December/January, please download an application from the 'Adopt' page of our web site, www.bandocats.org and either email the application back to us or fax it to 614-873-0972.
