Archie's story...

Hey, World! I'm Archie!!! I'm just three months old, and I've already had a huge adventure. My mom, Camarin, and I were abandoned in a house in a bad part of Baltimore. We were so scared we hid in a closet until someone rescued us and took us to the Howard County Cat Club's group home.

We're having a great time here. I run all over everywhere climbing things and playing with all the toys. I love life, and cats, and people, and food, and ...

I love my mom, too, and we need to be adopted together. We want to go to an indoor/outdoor home. Hey, come to an adoption show and meet us sometime. We'll play, and play, and play.

Please note: The Howard County Cat Club does not adopt kittens to families with children under age 6. This is for the children's safety, as well as the cats.'

About Our Rescue Group...

The Howard County Cat Club is a registered 501 (c)(3) nonprofit no kill cat rescue. Our mission is to keep cats out of shelters because we believe that no cat deserves to live in a cage, or to be put to death because it is no longer wanted or in the way. We operate a behavior hotline to help cats and their human companions resolve their differences. We help people place their no-longer-wanted cats in loving new homes, and we foster cats in our "group home" when they have no place else to go.

Come Meet Our Pets...

SPECIAL NOTICE: AS SUNDAY APRIL 12 IS EASTER, WE WILL NOT BE HAVING AN ADOPTION SHOW AT HIGHLAND GROOMERY ON THIS DATE. WE HAVE RESCHEDULED THAT SHOW FOR SUNDAY, APRIL 26. OUR SHOW AT PETCO ON APRIL 19 IS STILL ON AS SCHEDULED.

We have adoption shows on the second Sunday of every month from noon-3 p.m. at the Highland Groomery, 13401 Clarksville Pike Highland, MD 20777. Call 410-730-5511for directions. On the third Sunday of every month, we're at the Columbia PetCo store on Dobbin Road. Please call or write to us before you come to the show, so we can make sure the cat you want to meet will be there! Our cats also enjoy meeting potential forever families by appointment at our group home.

Our Adoption Process...

Potential forever families must complete an application and sign a contract. Our contract stipulates that you will NOT declaw and that the cat will be returned to us if things don't work out. Cats who are adopted together must be returned together -- they may not be separated. Our contract also stipulates that you will feed both canned and dry food -- we do not want our cats to have dry food-only diets. We DO adopt to safe, responsible indoor/outdoor homes. And we almost always have ferals who must be relocated to barn homes.
