BRANDI-ADOPTED!'s story...
Please contact Susan McCoy (adopt@foreverkees.org) for more information about this pet.

Adopted by one of our forever families! Brandi and Wiski were released to our rescue organization due to compelling family circumstances. Brandi and Wiski, female and male Keeshond siblings who were born in September, 2001, required rescue services because their owner was ill and could no longer care for them. Brandi and Wiski's owner described them as well behaved dogs who need new homes through no fault of their own. In their original home, Brandi and Wiski were accustomed to living with five year old twins, a resident cat, a Pomeranian, newborn puppies and adult dogs. We will update Brandi's profile as she shares her likes/dislikes and obedience level. Once in our care, our many Keeshond dogs receive veterinary attention, quality food, laughter and the involvement of dedicated volunteers. Without exception, the dogs blossom. Brandi is quick to share her sweet and friendly disposition--we look forward to getting acquainted with her. Brandi enjoyed her grooming session with our groomer--and she was very well behaved for her spa visit. Please watch for updates and new photos!

Update-10/6/09: Brandi's brother, Wiski, is undergoing surgery for PHPT. Brandi's wellness panel was normal, so we submitted her blood sample to Cornell University's Animal Health Diagnostic Center to check if Brandi has the PHPT gene that can cause PHPT, thanks to Dr. Goldstein's research. Please read about PHPT here: http://www.keeshondrescue.org/Health.html

Update-11/14/09:
We were advised that Brandi and Wiski were litter-mates,  so when Wiski tested positive for PHPT, our veterinarian ordered a PHPT genetic test for Brandi from Cornell University. We were elated to learn the DNA from Brandi's sample was negative for the gene associated with PHPT. This is wonderful news!

We place our dogs only in Southern California. We have many wonderful Keeshond dogs awaiting adoptive homes. Please visit our website at www.foreverkees.org to find out more about Keeshond Rescue and to view some of the available Keeshond dogs. New dogs arrive often and some are placed right away because they matched a home waiting for them--you should submit a downloadable adoption application via email or US Mail--please note we have a new mailing address listed below! Thank you for considering a Keeshond rescue dog! Wiski and Brandi are another wondrous pair of dogs fortunate to have come into the care of a rescue organization. Again, whichever rescue organization you support, donate dollars to that organization to make a difference in the lives of many dogs awaiting suitable forever homes. Support rescue organizations so we can do what we each do best -- provide proper medical care, reinforce self-esteem, place appropriately.

If you don't see the Keeshond you want to adopt right now, please consider making a tax-deductible donation for the homeless Keeshond dogs at SoCA Keeshond Rescue, Inc. SoCA Keeshond Rescue, Inc. has Paypal link on www.foreverkees.org. US Mail address is PO-BX 735, Rhome TX 76078
