New Photos 7-2006. Her leg had healed nicely.
She is a great Friendly dog
Penny's story is she was hit by a car and left for dead on the side of the road. Animal Control picked her up and dropped her at the vet to be euthanized. But the vet couldn't he felt her legs could be saved. Three THOUSAND dollars and one rescuer and about 20 donors who gave money to help pay her medical bills she is back to 100%.
The 2nd pic was taken July 2006, yup she is dirty from playing with a foster puppy in the backyard and digging holes! Oh MY they had a great time.
Penny loves to cuddle and is just a great dog.
She would be great with older kids (10 yrs and up)

Great with my two dogs (and all the rescue animals that come through)
SHE IS A GREAT GREAT loving dog. She is great with other dogs and even my cat (although I wouldnt place her in a cat home)... She is bundle of fun who LOVES to cuddle. She has been great with all the other rescues who come in and out of my place. If you are interested in adopting she needs a HIGH fence and she is crate trained. She is almost 2 yrs old! And Still PUPPY!
Pennys Story:
Penny was hit by a car and found in a heap on the side of the road trying to move. She was supposed to be taken by animal control but they were talked into going to a vet where they xrayed her and discovered several fractures in both front legs but the vets did not feel qualified to do the complicated surgery. Rescue groups were contacted and no One rescue could take her on, the expense would be too high. So a few groups got together and through email they raised the money for the surgery and transported this lucky pup to the vet. Somehow I got roped into being on-point with her care and juggling the donations. A few months later she was ready to go to adoptions and find a home. Although after being locked in a cage in the supine position for a few months too long she did not "show well" at adoptions. She was too hyper so I brought her to my home to see how she would get along with my two dogs and cat. She did FINE. She was so happy to be in a home instead of a kennel or hospital. She was a GEM. That was last summer 2005.
Fast forward to today. I still have Penny, love her and would love to place her in a loving home. She would be great in a home with other pets.
If you are interested in donating to Pennys Vet Bill (no the donations that came in did NOT cover the entire cost, and the BILL is in MY name... so I can use all the help I can get.)
The vet bill currently is around $700 you can call the vet to make a payment over the phone.

Application, Home Check, Fee (around 300-350) [because it generally costs us about 500 to bail a dog from a shelter, take it to a vet, clean it up and foster and care for it until it finds a permanent home], and finally the Contract.
If you have questions about the fee... watch the HBO movie called DEALING DOGS. It shows how people STEAL dogs and sell them to a Class B Dealer who in turn sells them to schools and labs for horrific experiments.
Experimenting on animals was once necessary but Doctors have told me that it is no longer needed because our medicine is at a microscopic level and beyond... that it is just wasted. In another documentary I heard Doctors saying when they were in Med School animal testing was a joke because it was like just doing it because it was on the curriculum, rather than getting any real educational value from it.
