Henrie's Info...
| Breed: | Weimaraner | Color: | Gray/Blue/Silver/Salt & Pepper | Age: | Adult |
| Size: | Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg) | Sex: | Male |
I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, and up to date with shots.
Henrie is a sweet, young, handsome boy who is looking for just the
right woman. He is a 4-year-old mouse grey Weim who is
overwhelmingly drawn to women and can be anxious and nervous around
larger men. He is a good boy who loves to curl up on the couch and
cuddle, but he needs a special home.
Henrie's owner surrendered him, along with his father and sister, to
a shelter. We think that Henrie's past home environment was not a
happy or safe one. He needs a lady that can give him structure and
support to help him understand what is expected of him as a
companion. He desperately seeks love, but also needs to have someone
teach him the boundaries of acceptable behavior. Without clear
expectations, Henrie can become very possessive of his lady human
companion and his time with her.
He can be crated, but gets a bit nervous and would do better in a
larger kennel when he needs to be confined. Henrie is very
intelligent and LOVES food, so he learns quickly with food rewards.
He was adopted earlier this year from GLWR, but did not acclimate
well to life in a rental home due to his owner's schedule. He was
very nervous and pensive and struggled in that environment. Henrie
just really needs a lady to call his own who lives in a quieter,
perhaps more rural environment. He has a lot to offer to just the
right person!

Rescue Group Info...
Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue is an all-volunteer, nonprofit group whose primary mission is to help with the rescue & placement of Weims in the Great Lakes region; including Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Ontario.
Dogs that enter our rescue/recovery program are placed into our foster care network which provides a stable, loving family environment. Each dog's medical & emotional needs are provided for as they wait for their new "forever" home. We believe that every dog deserves a chance to enjoy a good life. We adhere to a "no-kill" philosophy.
GLWR was created in an effort to support & provide for the rescue, recovery, care, rehabilitation & re-homing of Weims in need across the Great Lakes region. No one individual is GLWR...we came together to form a collective & collaborative organization with our sole purpose being to assist Weims in need. We work with the various networks of shelters and containment facilities in several states as well as accept owner relinquishments. We exist solely on the generous donations of those who love these majestic "grey ghosts" as much as we do & the fund raising efforts of our very talented and energetic group. All funds received are used to support the vet care & other essential expenses necessary in the daily care of the dogs.
We believe in doing everything possible to help a dog make the transition to their forever home. We are here for the Weims & the Weims alone...our reward lies not in the accolades of being "rescuers" but in the gratitude we see in the bright, loving eyes of one of our Weims as they move onto their forever home... dogs that were once sad, dejected, & without hope that now have a chance to experience the love and warmth of a family that will truly love and care for them.
Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue is not a shelter. We are a group of volunteers that live throughout the Great Lakes Region; Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Ontario.
