Blitz's foster mom and dad have determined that he might possibly be deaf or at least partially deaf, as none of the chaos around wakes him from a nap. What can I say... I am the cutest puppy ever!!! I am very playful and not scared of bigger dogs at all. I want to be held and loved all day. I do sleep alot right now but will be getting into the puppy stage soon. I love my crate and I am a very good eater!!! I need someone with a lot of time to spend on me and help me to become a good, big dog one day. I will need help with housetraining and chewing but I am well worth the time and effort!!!

THIS PUPPY IS NOT ALTERED - any dog under 6 months of age is too young to be altered. Tufts Veterinary School has several programs for rescued dogs including a free spay/neuter clinic during certain times of the year and a Friday spay/neuter clinic at VERY discounted prices; we are happy to arrange the Friday appointment and cover the cost of the procedure. If you wish to have the surgery done by your own veterinarian, PAWS NE will refund the adopter $60.00 toward surgery once proof of the alteration is provided. Adopter will be required to sign a spay/neuter contract.

Unless otherwise stated, all of our dogs are located outside of Rhode Island boarded either at one of our vet clinics or in foster care. If a dog is listed as "local," he /she is at one of our foster homes in New England.

PAWS NE is often asked, "Why would you charge "so much" for a rescue pet? Why not just place it in a good home?" The answer is because we need adopters who are willing to support all rescue pets, not just the dog they adopt. A young, healthy dog might cost us $150-400 in (discounted) vet care, and many people will want to adopt it. An older one with health issues can easily cost $500-1500 in veterinary expenses, and it may require months of foster care for rehabilitation; yet we can only ask a minimal adoption fee, and it may be a long time until anyone comes forward to adopt it. Fees from the younger, more adoptable dogs help offset the cost of caring for the others. Most of our dogs have a sad story to tell, and some have suffered through years of neglect or abuse. We hope that you too are willing to give an opportunity for a better life to ALL of our dogs by supporting them through adoption fees. Without these funds, our rescue efforts would not be possible.

ALL KNOWN INFORMATION IS LISTED HERE. We do our best to give accurate information, but most of our dogs are rescues and do not come with a known history.

About Our Rescue Group...
PAWS is comprised of a small group of volunteers from New England and Tennessee trying to reduce the euthanization rate (previously 90%) at the Tipton County Animal Control shelter in Brighton, Tennessee. This shelter is forced to euthanize thousands of animals each year due to irresponsible pet owners that do not spay/ neuter their dogs in the area. Millions of dogs in America are euthanized each year due to lack of space and lack of funding to try and find them better homes.

Our mission is to save as many animals as possible, removing them from the shelter, having their veterinary needs met prior to traveling and then finding them loving homes throughout New England. We do this only with the assistance of many people volunteering their time by going to the shelter, transporting the dogs to the vet, fostering dogs who need special care, and arranging for their new and happy homes in this area. Most importantly, we cannot do any of this without those people willing to open their homes and hearts to these lovely creatures.

Dogs in Memphis can be transported to New England with our transport partners.

Our Adoption Process...
All of our dogs have an adoption fee of $400. This includes a $275 donation to the animal hospital that provided their care and their $125 transportation fee.

All of our dogs arrive altered, up to date on shots, and receive medication and treatment for any problems that are present in the animal hospital. Families that adopt rescue dogs are entitled to one free month of pet insurance!

PAWS requires all adopters to complete an online application and provide either a vet reference or two personal references. All adopters will be required to sign an adoption contract and a rider stating their dog will be taken to a vet of their choice within 72 hours for a fecal exam.

Our plan is to begin microchipping our animals within the next few months.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
We serve all New England States except MA.
