SWIZZLE's Story...
SWIZZLE is a funny, friendly girl, she is about 2 yrs old, spayed, very enthusiatic and perky. She is small, about 30 lbs but she doesn't come off as a small dog with her big personality She loves playing with the other dogs and she can really hold her own. At night tho, she is down for the count and she sleeps all night in the house. Swizzle will do best with more mature kids or adults, not because she is crabby but just because she plays so hard. Maturity will suit her well. She has grown up with the cats too ,so she is definitely cat proof. A lot of exercise and interaction will suit her the best, her energy is medium to high, another dog or two would be a plus. Her adoption fee is $130.00 and that uncludes her spay, shots and worming. This is a very cute girl.

About Our Rescue Group...
We are in a very rural county in western New Mexico that has no animal control at all until we started trying to make a difference here in the fall of 2003. Early in the spring of 2006 we became incorporated and we have now had our non-profit status for 5 years. We concentrate on rescuing lost and abandoned animals and helping out when people die or become incapable of caring for their pets. We are proud of our senior program, helping elderly people with unforeseen expenses and care. Our biggest focus is
neutering everything that passes through our hands.
By the end of 2006, we had been able to spay, neuter,
and place over 330 animals. As of Winter2011, our numbers are more than 1300 animals spayed and neutered. We have puppies, kittens, adult dogs and cats, all spayed, neutered and ready to go. Here at Fur and Feather you will find that we pride ourselves in rating these animals for their ability to be with children, cats, horses, other dogs and poultry. The biggest hurdle we are always facing is getting enough funding to keep things going to take care of the nearly 300 dogs and cats in our care. We gratefully accept donations of food, bedding, toys, fencing materials and cash.We are always happy to make appointments for visitors as we love for people to see our facility and meet our animals. Happily, we are making a difference one critter at a time.Come out and see us in 2012!

Our Adoption Process...
Most importantly we do have a policy that assures you can return an animal to us if things are not working out. We want to make sure that all is a good fit. Since every situation is unique we try to work with each individual to find a good match. We ask for reimbursement of the regular veterinary expenses we have in the animal and that is what brings us to our adoption fees. Our primary goal is finding homes but we really need the funding so we can continue on.
