Tucker is a 3-4 year old Shih Tzu who played with a German Shepherd and lost! When he was a puppy a GSD played too roughly with him and he lost his eye. He doesn't have any problem seeing out of the other eye and because he's spent all of his life without it, it doesn't bother him. Tucker lived in a backyard for most of his life. He was turned into our rescue when his family got a new puppy just as he replaced the other dog when they got Tucker as a puppy. But Tucker has lived happily in his foster home now and they adore him. He learned not to lift his leg in one day, learned to go out the doggy door, knows sit and is working on stay. Tucker is a total couch potato and loves to be sitting next to you. Tucker has been hanging out with lots of strangers coming and going and is the life of the party at his Stanford foster home with college students who come and go. He’s always around to greet someone and let them know he’s new and needs “lots of lovin’”. Tucker has a non-shedding coat. He will require regular grooming. His foster mom discovered that keeping the hair out of his one eye, also is a must.
**Priority is given to those applicants who have filled out the application ahead of time, had a phone interview and have received a confirmation email and contract for the adoption event. They will be given the first opportunity to pursue an adoption of the dog of their choice at the adoption event from 4:30-5:30pm. If they choose not to adopt that particular dog, then the dog becomes available at 5:30pm to the first approved home.
**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
