Check out my ears - ya just gotta love big stand up ears! If you're looking for an independent guy who won't slobber on you all the time, check me out. I come off as a little aloof, and believe this comes from possible Pharaoh Hound heritage. I'm a little shy, and enjoy 'my space'. If you have some patience and time to earn my trust slowly, we might be a match.
I just turned 2 years old (born Feb 2010), and have matured into a nice medium sized guy of about 45#. My long, lanky build lends itself well to my love of playing chase and keep-a-way in the yard! I steal the Kong toys and - off I go! My foster friends have a hard time keeping up with my game. After chasing me all around the yard, they usually wear down and surrender to Master Toy Thief!
We've been walking through the parks and trails to enjoy new experiences and scenery (watch out pesky squirrels). My foster mom puts me on a long leash sometimes and lets me play in the creeks and rivers...haven't caught a fish yet, but...
Training classes would be good for me to learn new things and improve my manners. I do know how to Sit, and I'm very food motivated. A family that includes someone working from home or able to give me midday breaks would be best as I struggle with housetraining and have trouble waiting a full workday. Doggy Daycare has been a blast and I enjoy the company of most dogs...and I love a good rough and tumble session!
Please note that a PHYSICAL FENCE will likely be required to adopt me.
