Update 4/1/09 This Sweet old Lady has retired with dignaty. She has her choosen places in the house and the others respect he authority. Very low maintenance cat, no demands except to brush and pet on occasion, and she communicates that desire well. Update 1/23/08 Sweet Ol Lady has moved into the house to join the family. She no longer fears the dog, and has chosen her places on the couch, or the dining room chair. She doesn't care for all the kittens that are here, so she probably won't like any that will be fostered here in the future either. She still visits the basement litterbox and basket but is now tolerant of walking past the dog, and drinks from her water dish. She is a wonderful house guest but could use a one on one human relationship to complete put a true happy ending to her story.
Original Post - Sweet Ol' Lady lived a tough life on the streets, hunting for food and out running dogs released intentionally to chase her. Injured, she was surrendered to me by Dog Control. Surgery was successful and she has fully recoved now. She desperately wants to join the family and is regularly invited to enter the house, but we have a dog, and out of fear she retreats to the basement everytime. This Sweet Ol' Lady Kitty is so grateful to be indoors, safe and warm a fed everyday BUT sadly... so much of her time is spent ALONE. This dignified senior should not have to trade loneliness for security and food. She should be sitting on a couch, along side another Sweet Ol Lady, or a nice Old Man. Do you know a lonely human senior that needs a companion??? Contact Caren at 727-5724 or JustCrin@aol.com if you know someone that needs a new love in their life. |
