I am already spayed and up to date with shots.
Sasha is a little dynamo! She is small enough to easily pick up, but far too squirmy for snuggling! She had a blast racing around the yard, showed interest in the toy, and loved getting attention as well. Her run is the cutest thing to watch - it is more of a bound or a series of pounces. Sasha's energy can be deftly handled by throwing toys for her - altho she does not bring them back to your hand. She is barely in the 'medium' size range.
Approved application and fenced yard required. VISIT OUR WEBSITE for our application and vetting fees. All pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before leaving the shelter!
Most of our dogs come in as strays with no history. AGE is based on activity level and tooth wear. [BABY = baby teeth; YOUNG = minimal tooth wear, playful; ADULT = mature] SIZE is based on height at the shoulder. [SMALL = under 13in ** MEDIUM = under 20in ** LARGE = 20in or taller (or short but heavy, like a basset)]

The Calhoun County Humane Society, Inc. (dba The Animal Shelter), located in Anniston, Alabama, was established in 1973 as a result of the efforts of Susan Levens Phillips.
Our mission is
**To provide the pets in our care with a decent, safe and sanitary place;
**To prevent cruelty to animals;
**To stop suffering among animals mutilated or injured;
**To educate the public about the tremendous pet over-population facing the United States;
**To promote spaying and neutering to stop the senseless killing of animals;
**To place as many pets as possible in responsible homes.

Cats may be viewed in the Cat Condos area of the store during regular store hours. Ask a PetSmart employee for assistance.
Our adoptable dogs visit PetSmart on the 1st Saturday of the month from 11am to 2pm.

The adoption fee for dogs includes a full exam, vaccinations (DA2PLP+CV, Bordatella, Rabies) spaying/neutering, heartworm check, deworming, heartworm prevention, flea preventative, and in some cases, a skin scrape.
The adoption fee for cats includes a full exam (feleck/FIV tested, FVRCP), spaying/ neutering, rabies, deworming, and flea preventative.
If you wish to adopt a pet you will need to fill out an adoption application. You can either pick one up at the shelter or email the shelter to request an application be emailed to you.
