Alize's Info...
| Breed: | American Pit Bull Terrier Mix | Color: | White - With Black | Age: | Young |
| Size: | Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg) | Sex: | Female |
I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, not good with dogs, and good with cats.
Here is Alize; all elegant and beautiful in her white fur with gorgeous black markings as if all dressed up for a masked ball! Alize is about 2 years old (10/2011) and weighs a well put together 55 lbs. Athletic and graceful, she is stunning!
Alize was rescued from BARC, the Houston city pound, when she attended Pet Fest 2010. She had been at BARC past her allotted time and was going to be killed upon her return if she were not adopted at the event. A kind woman met her and, after seeing how sweet she was, got her right there for $27.50 to save her life and give her a decent chance for a good home. She has fostered Alize ever since, getting her healthy and teaching her things.
And Alize has learned! She is so smart. She knows Sit, which is a sit/stay command along with a hand signal. She is perfectly house-trained and crate trained.
Although she sleeps completely still and doesn’t chew up anything when she sleeps with her foster mom, there can be no pillows or blankets in her crate because she will chew them up and that can be a grave danger to a dog. She does enjoy having her Nylabone whenever she is in her crate.
One interesting thing about Alize is her special tenderness for cats. She currently lives with five cats and she is very gentle with them and likes to snooze with them. She was always an angel and protective of a very frail 3.5 lb. little old lady cat until the cat passed on at 14 years old. On the other hand, Alize would do best as an only dog in the home unless it was to be with a person with great experience in managing a multi-dog household, as Alize generally does not care for other dogs.
Alize is a very loving dog and bonds strongly to her people. She is content sitting on the ottoman or wherever her foster mom is, for hours. She rides extremely well in a car. Just sits or lies there, even for a 5.5 hour ride! She loves playing fetch with a ball or Frisbee and even brings it back for more! She is very smart and picks up on new things quickly. She is great company!
Alize is not comfortable at events where there is a lot of commotion. She will bark constantly and annoy everyone. She much prefers the peace and quiet of home. She had enough of being out there in the chaotic world.
If you are interested in this beautiful dog and believe she would be a good match as a member of your loving home, please go to treatemright.org and fill out an application for her. We will be happy to make arrangements for your visit and Alize will do her best to win over your heart. Thank you!

Rescue Group Info...
Treat ‘Em Right Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of the American Pit Bull Terrier and other “bully” breeds.
All of our dogs come to us from high-kill shelters, police raids, or confiscations resulting from animal cruelty cases. We often take in dogs that have been the victims of indescribable abuse and neglect.
We provide these dogs with the medical attention they need to heal physically and the love and attention they need to heal emotionally. It is our mission to find each of our dogs a loving home, promote responsible ownership, and educate the public about the gentle, affectionate, and loyal nature of the American Pit Bull Terrier.
Through these education and advocacy initiatives, we believe that we can restore the reputation of a breed that was once America’s favorite dog.
