Meet Harper and Grandpa. These two sweethearts were in terrible condition when they were found.
When they were first brought to our rescue, they were very much on guard. They wanted to trust people, but weren't sure. We were able to obtain some information regarding their past.
It was obvious by their personalities that they lived in a loving home for years, their owner became ill, and sadly passed away. The house was cleared out but they were abandoned and left to fend for themselves for months until a neighbor discovered them wondering.
Sweet Harper, approx. 6 years old. She was so thin, barely hanging onto life and could barely walk. Her health was a great concern. We rushed her to our Veterinarian right away. For a while, she was given fluids and had to be forced fed, she was too weak to eat on her own. She was always good about letting us poke her and stuff pills down her throat. With lots of TLC she is recovering nicely and putting on weight.
Over time, Grandpa approx. 8-10 yrs old, lost most of his teeth due to malnutrition and going into survival mode and eating whatever he could find which would include garbage and rocks. He also had a really tight collar around his neck which was removed just in time before it became imbedded. He still has signs of the tight collar that was around his neck, but is doing well.
Since these two have been through so much and have stuck together, they have a very strong bond and will need to be placed in a home together. They constantly butt their heads against each other and Harper sticks to Grandpa like glue, she is always by his side. We have discovered that their bond is so strong, Harper stops eating when Grandpa is separated from her.
If you are looking for a loving bonded pair, please consider these two. They are both very calm and affectionate. They get along great with other cats.
They are both UTD on vaccines, FELV tested neg. and given flea treatment.

Rescue Group Info...
We are no-kill, all volunteer non-profit feline rescue organization. We work with members of the public.
We spay/neuter, vaccinate, test, and provide other needed medical care for our rescues. We then work to find new homes for abandoned, and homeless cats & kittens. Our goal is to eliminate the needless killing of pets in our shelters.
Since our incorporation in 1998, we have spayed/ neutered and rehomed over 2000 cats & kittens. Our credo is to stop the suffering of homeless and abused cats and kittens.
We do adoptions at the Petsmart in the Natomas Marketplace (just off I-80 on Truxel Road) in Sacramento. We are there Saturdays from 11am - 7pm and Sundays from 11am - 5pm every weekend.
We also have a number of adult cats who stay in the adoption center at Petsmart throughout the week. If anyone is interested in one of these cats, they can call 916-224-1117 and we'll make an appointment to meet them.
Our cats and kittens are all tested for FeLV (all) and FIV (8 months and older), spayed/neutered, and receive vaccinations appropriate for their age before adoption. Also, cats and kittens are de-fleaed and de-wormed Cats have a 10 day health warrenty and we have a life time return policy in case the adoption doesn't work out or circumstances change.
We try to match the cat to the home. Our Adoptors sign a waver with Petsmart and complete a contract with C.A.T.S. We ask an adoption fee of $90 on most of our cats. Some special needs cats are adopted for less.
