Sana is between 18 months and 2 years of age. She is a female tabby, gray and brown. We adopted her from a cat lover who had rescued her from the streets. It sounds as if she was abandoned at a very young age. She has all her shots and has been neutered. Sana was initially a very nervous cat, but as she adjusted to our household, she became much calmer, more playful. She is sweet and funny. Her name means “very much” in Swahili. A friend who had lived in Africa named her after watching her tumble upside down off furniture and ramble all over the house when we first got her Everything changed when we moved into a house with my sister last December. My sister has an adult female cat, larger than Sana, who established her territory in the house before we moved in. Sana has been living in a state of fear ever since. I don't think she is going to be able to adapt and get comfortable and easy once again. There is at least one confrontation a day between the cats and Sana is in a state of heightened anxiety and fear all the time. She needs a calm, one-cat household, with a cat-loving owner who can be gentle and patient with her. In that environment, she will be a wonderful pet. Please help us find her a home. Green Street Rescue is located in Philadelphia and focuses on rescuing stray and feral cats in the city. Our rescued stray and abandonded cats MAY require more TLC at first while they learn to trust humans again than owner-surrendered pets. We are an official non-profit organization. In addition to our adoption services, you can also contact us if you are caring for a colony of cats. We will train and provide you with resources for trap-neuter-return-manage (TNRM). Green Street Rescue is NOT a shelter, but a network and rescue service. We help to trap feral cats, rescue stray and abandonded cats. We make sure they see a vet or are taken to our low cost clinics for rescues ( see www.phillycats.org) . They are tested for Feline Aids and Leukemia, vaccinated and spayed/neutered. After which, we will match unwanted, unloved and abandoned cats with FURever homes with open doors and warm hearts. If you are looking to foster or adopt, please let us know and we will help you find the new love (or loves) of your life. And consider adopting a pair--it's twice the fun!! If you are interested in just fostering, please advise as we are always in need of foster homes. We thoroughly screen our potential adopters. If you're interested in one of our fabulous felines, the adoption process entails: a completed application, vet reference (if applicable), landlord approval or proof of ownership, interview, home visit, and a $75 fee to cover expenses. Email us for an application. Our rescue consists of foster homes, so you would need to make an appointment to meet your future feline. We do not have a facility.
Call for an appointment. Our foster homes are scattered around the city and the suburbs.
