Dusty was a confirmed homeless cat who was trapped and neutered with the intention of being released back outside since he appeared to be feral. Upon further review, he was found to be quite friendly, so he was kept indoors as a foster, with the intent to find him a permanent home through the rescue group’s adoption process. During his socialization period, it was discovered that he is an “Alpha Male” type cat who would not back down from any perceived challenge. If another adult cat would hiss, growl or otherwise challenge him in any way – the gloves came off! The fact that he is about 10 pounds of pure muscle allowed him to back up his claim to be in charge! Now … the rest of the story! Dusty loves attention from both people and other (non-threatening) felines. He loves kittens, and they love him. He seems to respect the protectiveness of momma cats with their babies and backs off. Also, he gets lonely if isolated for very long and becomes very unhappy. He has formed a special bond with Akiko, a 6 month old female gray tabby who is one of our recent foster kittens. Therefore, we want these two to be adopted together into a home with no other cats or dogs. A special adoption fee of $120 for both (instead of the normal $85 each) applies.
