Story
Stella is a six-year-old mountain Feist. She is eager to please, very tender-hearted and makes me laugh everyday. She is loving, loyal and playful with people she knows, but she will require time to get to know you and trust you. Treats and belly rubs are her love languages. Stella is smart and catches on quickly when being trained. She knows sit and stay and other basic commands. She loves walks and does well on a leash, but doesn’t particularly like car rides. She was bred to hunt squirrels and other small rodents. Therefore she is not good with small dogs or chickens. She is a very devoted and it breaks my heart to give her up, but I live with my elderly mother who has a smaller dog in the home that she has been aggressive with at times so I must rehome her. I hope to find a family that knows a lot about dogs, understands the reasons for their behavior and uses corrective action through positive reinforcement. Thank you.

Story
Eileen is super sweet, friendly and playful! She gets along with dogs and cats. She'll chase the cats but is just playing. She would do well with dogs her size. She loves to run and needs a fenced backyard to zoom around! She loves chasing toys, balls and stuffed ones, plus chewing on chew toys. She is a little skittish when walking around traffic. We think she may have been hit by a car at some point. She housebroken. She talks a little at first when crated but settles down. She is easy to train. She knows sit and shake, and doing well on a leash. She has been sharing a kennel with a couple of different young dogs and they have all been good together. She loves her playtime in the yard!

Story
Belle was very scared in the shelter. She went to a foster almost immediately. She is dog-friendly. And does best with a dog buddy to boost her confidence and play with her. She would do best in a home with another dog. She doesn't like walking on a leash. Belle is ok in a crate and mostly house-trained. She is food-motivated. She will sit for her food bowl. She had a one-on-one intro and she picked a young standard poodle as a bestie. They are play buddies. She has learned dog manners from the older dogs. She plays a little rough with the foster's cat. She will snuggle on couch with the foster's husband, but is timid with new people. She has not been around children. Her car rides have been limited. She is not fond of being on a leash or being picked up. She has picked up on potty training and she hasn't had any accidents in the house lately. Belle needs to be with another dog. If she is kenneled by herself, she becomes worried. She sleeps in her foster's room at night with a poodle. They let the foster know when they have to go out.

Story
Meet Schatzi!!!! I'm a beautiful girl GSD who loves people of all ages and sizes! If I lick you, you then belong to me and I'll protect you from cats, dogs and opossums. If you take me on a walk you better have strong arms! I love playing with toys, catching the ball & rolling around on beds and couches to get belly rubs all while sharing my GSD glitter(fur)with you! I did fine with ducks and chicken but my foster mom didn't let me stay with them too long since I drank out of the duck pool and tried getting in. I already know how to look here, sit and come. My foster mom was teaching me sign language and lay down and leave it. So I will get better manners around other animals. I'm potty & crate trained and put myself to bed. I'm available for adoption at the SSAW!!! Schatzi is a sweet, smart girl. She is an active girl who loves to run. She knows sit and loves treats. She is overly interested in cats and would probably do best in a home without cats or small animals.

Story
Max is a sweet, friendly, calm boy. His previous owner said he is dog, cat and kid-friendly. He came in with Maya and was surrendered due to loss of housing. He knows sit, loves attention and enjoys treats. Sometimes he doesn't want to share attention or food, but he's not aggressive about it. He loves to hang out and gets pets and snuggles in the yard. He is very easygoing and would make a wonderful couch potato buddy. Please help Max find a wonderful home for his golden years! From his foster: He loves being outside and is always the first out and the last in. He loves snuggling and thinks he is a lap dog. Max is potty trained. We haven't used the kennel much because everyone gets along so well. He goes in sometimes to hang out. The kennel is by my chair at the kitchen table so I think they go there to be near me. He enjoys tennis balls, but doesn't seem to care about stuffed or chew toys.

Story
Anna is such a sweetheart! She was found abandoned in an alley during a cold, wet weekend. Some volunteers worked together to get her food and shelter until she could be brought to Animal Welfare. She just wants snuggles and attention. She hasn't been interested in toys or treats yet. Anna was busted out of the shelter by a foster a few days ago. She has had a bath, food and is settling in. She is DEFINITELY a snuggler. She has been hanging out in the yard enjoying the sunshine with the foster's bigger dog. She thinks little dogs are squeaker toys, same with cats. She has not been around kids, but would advise older kids only as she is a BIG puppy and would knock small children down. She is not aggressive - no food aggression, but she will guard her bones. Working on leash training but she does really well, just not optimum. Dog pad trained, needs work on complete house training. Broke out of my crate. I think she would train to one but needs to be sturdy and not for over 10 hours. She is outgoing, playful, and a lover! Knows sit, shake, down, and over. Responds to treats or affection. Her favorite toys are stuffed Kongs and rope toys.
