My love for Doxies started ALL the way back in 2006, when I worked for a Real Estate office. A woman and her little girl came in with the tiniest, most adorable puppy I’d ever seen! She was a mini dachshund, a black and tan dapple, and from that point on-thats all I wanted! So, for my birthday in 2006-that is what I got! Ever since then, my love for these little long dogs has grown exponentially!
I always check Craigslist and FB to see if there are any dachshunds that need homes, and post them in a Doxie lovers of Kansas group, to try to find homes. I’ve taken some in, and I’ve even transported some.
I finally decided, with my last CL save-Frankie, that I was going to pursue becoming an actual rescue...so that I can help MORE dogs, and also be a tax deductible entity to people that are willing to help me! I have a big heart with lots of love for these little dogs <3!

Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
