Poodles R People Rescue's adoption process
1.
Submit Application
We first ask for an application to be submitted. This includes home info, why interested in adopting, home situation, past pet experience
2.
Interview
We respond to all applications within 24 hrs. If we think we have a good match we then set up home visit and do vet reference
3.
Home Check
We visit to see if home is as described and meet all family members & pets. We also make sure the home is safe and explain pool safety
4.
Meet the Pet
If all looks good we do a meet & greet to make sure our dog likes the adopter/their other pets. We will not place a dog unhappy with adopter
5.
Sign Adoption Contract
We offer a two week trial adoption if all looks good we place our dog and keep a deposit check for 2 weeks. If all goes well we cash check
6.
Take the Pet Home
Actually this usually happens when the contract is signed and we receive our adoption fee. We take our dogs back for any reason for life

We are a small group of Poodle lovers who seek out Poodles and Poodle mix dogs from kill shelters. We started in 2005 with a call from a high kill shelter that was going to pts a Poodle mom and her babies. We saved those pups and never looked back! After 15 years we have placed hundreds of dogs in amazing homes. Many of our dogs are seniors, need medical care, or emotional healing. We commit to our dogs for life and are always there to help our adopters no matter what

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
