City of Converse Animal Care Facility's adoption process

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

No Appointments needed. Adoption viewing allowed 8-5 M-F and noon-5pm Saturdays.

Sign Adoption Contract

Only takes a few minutes. Requires a photo ID and to be over 18 years old.

3.

Take the Pet Home

All pets are vetted prior to being listed as available for adoption and can go home same day.

About City of Converse Animal Care Facility

We are the Government facility for the City of Converse, TX and we are the Animal Care Services for the city as well as adoptions of unclaimed and unwanted animals.

Adoption Fees for Dogs, puppies, kittens: $75
Adoptions for Adult cats is :$25

All Animals are altered, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and microchipped.

Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
