The St. Mary Parish Animal Shelter is a proactive animal facility that encourages efforts through outreach within the communities, individuals and rescues to reduce the number of abandoned and homeless pets. The goal of the shelter is to focus efforts to address the root causes of abandonment, and neglect by educating the communities and individuals on proper pet care thus reducing the number of dogs and cats becoming surrenders and strays.
