Our animals come from Floyd County residents, but anyone from anywhere is welcome to apply for pet adoptions.
The New Albany Floyd County Animal Control and Shelter is a municipal animal control department. We service the animal control needs of New Albany and Floyd County and place adoptable animals into forever homes. We work closely with the Floyd County Humane Society and the Floyd County Animal Rescue League to promote adoptions of homeless animals, educate the public about the care of companion animals, and to serve our communities needs. From I-64 East:
Take the LAST New Albany exit before getting on the bridge. Go STRAIGHT through the STOP SIGN. Turn LEFT at your first opportunity. The Animal Shelter is the FIRST building on the RIGHT after you go under the overpass.
From I-64 West:
Take the FIRST New Albany exit from the bridge. At the bottom of the exit take a RIGHT at the first STOPLIGHT onto Scribner Drive. Go STRIAGHT about two blocks. Turn RIGHT into the parking lot. The Animal Shelter is the building on the RIGHT.
From I-65 North
Follow I-65 to I-265. Follow I-65 to I-64 East. Follow directions above.
