North Star Pet Assistance's Adoption Process

Fees vary by pet. Please complete and adoption application and return it to our adoption coordinator. Plesae answer every question. A home check or pictures of your fencing and shelter maybe required. Upon adoption you will be asked to sign a contract and waiver. We take all of our pets back at any time. We aim to match each pet to the right family for his/her personality and needs. The screening process helps us make sure we have made a good match for a permanent loving home. If we feel that a pet is not a good match according to your application we may suggest another pet. We want everyone to be happy forever! Thank you for your patience with our procedures and thank you for choosing adoption!

About North Star Pet Assistance

North Star Pet Assistance
"Guiding Pets Home"
est. 2001

Vision: We envision a world in which no healthy, adoptable animal has to be euthanized. Every pet will be well cared for and loved. None shall be abused or neglected.

Goal: To end the overpopulation of domesticated dogs and cats in the High Desert.

Objective: To eventually provide a facility with low cost neuter services, vaccines and micro-chipping. At the present time we aim to promote spay and neuter of animals, preventing the birth of potentially hundreds of thousands more animals who will most likely be abandoned. To encourage new local ordinances to prevent irresponsible ownership and breeding. To encourage responsible pet guardianship to decrease abandonment and relinquishment of pets.

In addition North Star Pet Assistance hopes to set an example on how animal advocates can work together, and not against each other, to benefit the pets. We currently work in cooperation with over a dozen full breed rescues as well as local animal controls and both shelters (Hesperia and Apple Valley). We can provide dozens of references and maintain wonderful working relationships with local vets. We'd be happy to share them with you.
