City of Grand Rapids Animal Control - For LOST & FOUND pets only, no adoptions

The City of Grand Rapids Animal Control Shelter is managed by the Grand Rapids Police Department. We house stray animals for the Itasca County Sheriff's Department, the Grand Rapids Police Department and the Town of Cohasset.

MN state statute requires animals to be held for five days if they are a lost pet. We hold them for ten because we serve a large area and want to give the owners time to find their loved ones and contact us. At the end of the ten days, we work with other area shelters to adopt out the animals. We do not do direct adoptions.
