Hello we are based in Washington County Maryland. The very southern part of the county. So we tend to serve both Washington County, and Frederick county. Out of state adoptions are no problem if your application/contact information checks out.

Adopt A Pet
To adopt we have an application, contract and adoption fee/donation. This fee is non refundable. All dogs that don't fit in with your family are to be returned. References will be checked out. This includes speaking with your current or past vet.

Oddies Legacy Rescue & Placement. In honor of my second Golden Retriever who was a rescue. He taught me not all goldens are created equal- and that a male is a total goof! I love it. Most of our rescues are family turn overs, and occassionaly my vet gets me into trouble. This rescue is run by a one woman army. Donations are always welcome. This is a NO KILL facility and a NO time limit one. I prefer dealing with medium and large breed dogs. This is a place of healing of body and soul. Those who need to heal emotionally from neglect/abuse do so. I have seen the peace and quiet here work wonders on such dogs. Those who need to gain or lose weight do so. (The fun part is they are on the same exact diet!) Those who pass through here are considered family- and are always invited to our annual puppy family reunion. Held the 3 weekend in June on that Sat. Those who can handle a multi dog function are encouraged to attend.

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
