Areas Ingham County Animal Shelter Serves

We take stray, lost or abused animals from Ingham County. Shelter animals can be adopted out into any county upon approval of adoption application.

Ingham County Animal Shelter's Adoption Process

1. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

If you do not own your own home, please bring a copy of your pet policy

2. Submit Application

After you spend some time with your new best friend, an adoption counselor will go over the application with you.

3. Take the Pet Home

If everything looks good, you can take your new best friend home same day!

We are an open admission shelter with a large volunteer and foster program. Please contact the shelter if you'd like to adopt, foster, or volunteer!
