Coldspring Area Animal

Hi, I'm Marianne Stovall a surviving member of Coldspring Area Animal Org. and the shelter director of our organization. My job has varied thru the years from volunteer for an almost total euthanisia animal shelter, to the president of our new organization, that is a no- kill animal rescue/sanctuary; to the shelter director which I enjoy the most. I'm also a 2nd grade teacher in Shepherd Tx. Each day after work, I dedicate 3 hours to the rescue. I clean kennels, water, bathe and feed the animals. I also medicate our 50 plus animals for worms of all sorts, and treat animals for shelter diseases like coccidia, and gardia with the help of my loving caring Vet and her helpful staff. I also dedicate each weekend to the rescue. I feel someone must be very familiar with the animals in order that they may thrive. I have very little help and would love to find someone like me that loves to be around the animals and watch the thrive. We have an outdoor facility for the larger stronger animals and an indoor facility for fragile animals. My donation to the animals has been buying 2 acres of land, fencing the land, bringing in water, and electricity, building lots of kennels and finally purchasing a mobilehome for the indoor facility. It is the best I can do; wish I could do better. I believe with an open mind and open heart that I will see this rescue succeed in the name of the animals all over the world that have paid with their lives. It is sad to see a society of people so well indowed with wealth and all the comforts of life, to be subjected to watch it's own animals scrape by and even be eliminated because they are a nusiance. I am also appauled that our society requires all the kinds of degrees, and legal issues to be in place before anything proceeds, and we allow people to participate in backyard breeding as though it is their right to direct and control the life--a life--- as they see fit. In general I am just plain embarrised to admit that I am a part of such STUPIDITY!!!!! COME ON AMERICA I KNOW YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS!!!! WHERE IS YOUR HUMILITY AND COMPASSION?. I'M AFFRAID WE HAVE BEEN TAUGHT IN OUR EASY COME EASY GO WORLD THAT TO LOOK THE OTHER WAY IS THE BEST WAY, AND THEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE RESPONSIBLE----WHERE IS YOUR SHAME AMERICA!!!!!!
