The City of Weatherford-Parker County Animal Shelter is a joint venture between the City of Weatherford, the City of Hudson Oaks, Springtown, Aledo, Willow Park and Unincorporated Parker County. Because we take in nearly 6,000 animals a year, our space fills up quickly. We have 102 dog kennels, a cat room with several kitty kennels, and additional cages for cats being evaluated prior to being placed for adoption. You are welcome to visit us to see all of the adoptable animals.
Your adoption application is in the form of an Adoption Questionnaire.
Our mission is to be the model for both rural and urban shelters; we reunite, rescue, shelter and secure permanent homes for adoptable companion animals and livestock; we support a healthy and responsible pet community as well as advocate for responsible pet ownership; we fight the pet overpopulation problem; and we protect the community by managing the epidemiological risks and enforcing the laws and ordinances pertaining to the animals.
The shelter is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 11am to 4pm, with the exception of government holidays and inclement weather. The shelter is located at 403 Hickory Lane in Weatherford, Texas.
