We have placed dogs into the right homes as far away as Canada to the north and Boston, MA to the east.
High Sierra Animal Rescue is a small nonprofit organization located in Plumas County, dedicated to saving the lives of homeless adoptable pets that can no longer be held at county shelters and providing with the care they need until they can be placed into permanent loving homes. Our shelter is located at 103 Meadowridge Lane in Portola, situated in the Sierra Nevada mountains in a triangle between Truckee, Ca and Reno, Nv. We are open to the public Monday through Saturday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Many of our adoptable dogs can be seen every Saturday at PetCo on S. Virginia Street In Reno, NV, from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm.
