Happily Ever After
Actually, all of our dogs live happy lives once they are under our care. Many are adopted by loving families in a few days. Others stay for awhile until they gain weight; receive needed medical attention and/or special training. When they are whole again, we find the right family who will love and care for them. The ones who aren't adopted stay with us as part of our family. They help us meet new dogs who come in and make them feel at home.

Our Dogs Receive the Best of Care.
Every dog that is surrendered to us or that we find wandering the streets, we microchip. Next we bathe and examine them top to bottom and take care of whatever medical problem there may be. Then we vaccinate. After the dog is all fixed up, he's allowed to make friends. His daily routine includes romping in the play yard, enjoying a bath, eating a nutritious diet, and snoozing on a comfortable bed. We're proud to say that our dogs are spoiled, but they are also trained.

Take Penny for example. When we found her she had 12 puppies. All the puppies were placed in good homes, but no one wanted Penny so she became our office dog. She's now regained her weight and has learned new tricks. We taught her to roll over, speak and crawl. She's also a big help shredding papers. How did we ever manage without her?

About Adoption
We don't just adopt dogs, we find the best compatible fit. That's why we like to know all about our perspective families. You could call us the e-harmony of pet/family connections. Because we know our dogs so well, we try to match them to the best possible family situation. For example, some of our dogs do better with a play mate, while others prefer being Top Dog. Some love children, while others prefer couples or seniors. Each dog has his own personality just as humans do. The trick is to match their personality to yours. That's why our adoption form is lengthy and quite personal. We want your adoption to be successful, and our dogs to be happy.
Once you have completed the application, it will be reviewed and you will be contacted. Once approved, we will set up a time for a meet and greet.

About Happy Endings Dog Rescue

Our mission is two-fold.
We provide shelter, food, medical treatment and love to dogs who are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. In addition, we instill in our community an awareness of the animals whose world we share; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership.

At Happy Endings all dogs have a home until they are adopted.
We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. We find new homes with caring families as soon as possible. Some stay with us only a matter of days or weeks, others require a longer period of care and rehabilitation before they are able to go to a new home. Unless they have an incurable disease, they have a home at Happy Endings Rescue until we find them a permanent, loving family.

Adopt a Pet is the easiest way for you to search for a new pet in Dallas, TX.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
