Areas Southern Comfort Animal Rescue Serves

Located just outside of Glenwood, GA, and within Wheeler Co.
While our main focus is within our own county we do try to assist where ever and whenever we can. Wheeler Co has no other rescue, shelter or animal control in which to help the extremely high number of unwanted, neglected and/or abandoned animals. Wheeler Co doesn't even have a county ordinance for the protection of it's animals, making it very difficult to try and control the massive amount of breeding between animals which leads to many unwanted litters.

Southern Comfort Animal Rescue's Adoption Process

1. Submit Application

An application must be submitted prior to meeting our dogs. After your app has been approved, we will set an appointment to meet

2. Interview

Phone/In Person interview conducted.

3. Meet the Pet

An appointment to meet the dog(s) is set. A home visit is required. If all goes well at the meeting then the adoption will be finalized.

A number of our dogs/puppies may not be listed for adoption as they may be going through their vaccination/assessment period. We encourage people to give as much information about what they're looking for in a new pet as possible. Chances are, we may have what you're looking for.

We fully support the "No Kill" philosophy.

Come Meet Southern Comfort Animal Rescue's Pets

Our facility isn't set up for "open" visitations; in keeping the safety of both our dogs and potential adopters safe, we require that an appointment be made prior to allowing visitors inside our building.
If you think your lost pet may be at our shelter, please contact Scott at 912-423-0145 If you have any photos of your lost pet, feel free to send them, along with detailed info of that pet, to, ATTN: Scott
