South Shore Humane Society, Inc

South Shore Humane Society was started in 1974 by a concerned group of women who were concerned about dogs that were in local pounds with no outlet for adoptions. They started a newspaper column called Around The Pounds to educate the public about animals in need of homes. We have expanded to be a spay/neuter assistance organization to help stop the overpopulation of pets. We are an all volunteer humane society. We do not have a shelter and we are primarily a spay/neuter organization, with some foster homes and we do some emergency pet medical assistance.
