Our adoption fee is $150.00 when the animal has the basic vet procedure. Should the animal need special vet procedures such as Heart Worm Treatment or expensive tests to diagnose a health condition there may be additional charges. Each adoptor must sign a contract with HARI. A fenced yard is a must. For apartments we must be convinced the animal will be safe and given sufficient exercise (dog park, play date, jogging partner, etc.) By contract the animal must be transported in a safe manner, given heartworm and flea prevention monthly, and receive routine consistent vet care.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
