A Franklinton, LA 70438 rescue helping to find loving homes for dogs, cats.
1 - 11 of 11 Adoptable Pets at This Shelter
We serve Washington Parish (county) which is a mostly rural area with 25 percent of the 45,000 people living here having incomes below the poverty level. We serve surrounding areas as well.
We’ll set up a meet and greet with the pet.
This can happen before or after the application submission.
Meet and Greet is set up after we’ve talked about what you want in a pet. We want to make great matches.
We are a small, all volunteer group who want to eliminate the problem of abandoned, neglected , abused animals in Washington Parish. Our area has a huge problem with abandoned dogs and cats for several reasons. One of the major reasons is the lack of affordable spay/neuter programs and lack of knowledge as to the value of spay/neuter. We started a high volume, low cost spay/neuter program in February 2009 and have spayed/neuterd over 1500 cats and dogs since then. We received a PetSmart grant to subsidize our program. We schedule 40 to 50 dogs and cats once per month and will continue to do this as long as we have volunteers, a participating vet and funds. We have 3 foster homes and are able to rescue a few animals. We have contacts with other rescue groups and are building a network for our beautiful parish.
We are a PetSmart adoption partner and are at the Covington, La. PetSmart on most Sundays from 11 am til 4 pm.. We usually have cats and dogs at our fundraisers also. Call us anytime for arrangements to see any of our adoptable pets.
